Tradition Flush Toe
COMING SOON! The Tradition Flush Toe shoes meet the requirements for HISA horseshoe regulations.
The Tradition style evolved from the Kings Plates for track shoers that preferred a slightly narrower front pattern and heel width and nail holes that were a bit finer and spread out. The finer nail pattern and width allow the shoes to be fit tighter and still be nailed comfortably. This suits a more traditional shoeing style. There are 6 nails holes on front shoes and 5 on Hinds.
When Kerckhaert started making the Tradition hind with a toe clip it changed the market very rapidly as farriers saw that the clips were strong and helped prevent shoes from sliding back either in work or on “stall kickers”. The Tradition unclipped shoes are available in Front sizes 3-8 and Hinds 3-7. Toe Clip Hinds are available in sizes 3-7.
Beginning August 1, 2022 no horseshoe traction devises will be allowed on most Thoroughbred race tracks in the United States. Kerckhaert Tradition Race Plates with flush toe (no grab) to meet HISA rules. All of the shoes on this page meet the new rules.
